Okay, there is nothing ambiguous about this Taylor Swift Reputation Easter egg. To accept her iHeartRadio Music Award, via video call, the Eras Tour icon wore a long-sleeved black t-shirt, pleated plaid skirt, and a silver necklace with a front clasp shaped like a snake head. This is clear Reputation imagery right here.
Every Swift album comes with its own colors and iconography and Reputation, first released in 2017, was characterized by a black wardrobe and snake imagery—then a not-so-veiled reference to her feud with Kim Kardashian.

Swifites have been anxiously awaiting the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version) for literal years now. In the interim, they’ve been analyzing every move their idol makes for signs that the album rerelease is on its way. And the theories have been ramping up in recent months. In July 2024, fans noticed that the black-and-gold costume Swift wore for an Eras Tour show in Milan was very Reputation-coded. Then, in September, Swifties spotted Easter eggs in Swift’s snakeskin boots, charm necklace, and plaid skirts. In October 2024, Swifties were at it again, reading hints into Swift’s choice to film her “End Game” music video in Miami, and in another gold-and-black Eras Tour ‘fit, this time a bodysuit with a snake motif detail.
Basically, to say that fans are getting antsy for Taylor Swift to release Reputation (Taylor’s Version) is an understatement. Many fans were expecting Swift to announce a release date at the 2025 Grammys (perhaps in part because 2025 is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac, per Marie Claire), which she didn’t, sending Swifties into a tailspin. Even Millie Bobby Brown, in a joke interview with her 2024 self, mentioned the long-wait. “[Swift] has not given us Reputation yet,” the Stranger Things actor informed her slightly younger self, caveating, “But you know what? She’s busy.”
But, come on. The snake necklace can’t be a coincidence, can it?
