Happy New Music Friday! The weekend is here, which means more streaming, new playlists and the best that music has to offer — and ET has you covered for everything in between.
Before Music’s Biggest Night, stars celebrated the Grateful Dead at MusiCares Persons of the Year Charity Gala. Hosted by Andy Cohen, performers included John Mayer, Maren Morris, Mick Fleetwood, Norah Jones, Wynonna Judd, Noah Kahan, Maggie Rose, Zac Brown, Sammy Hagar, The War And Treaty and more. The evening included inspiring performances and heartfelt moments to honor the Grateful Dead who have been known for bringing people together for a greater cause. The night also raised funds to ensure that MusiCares can continue its mission of helping people behind music, especially those impacted by the current devastation of the Los Angeles wildfires. On the red carpet, Andy Cohen shared that the Grateful Dead are an embodiment of a community and Maren Morris expressed her gratitude for how MusiCares has helped her as a young musician. Inside the event, Wynonna Judd said it felt good to come together as a community and MusiCares announced they raised more than 9 million that night.
Elton John and Brandi Carlile announced a new studio album Who Believes In Angels? out April 4 and released the first single “Who Believes In Angels?” The collaborative album was written by Elton, Brandi, Bernie Taupin and Andrew Watt and for the first time, Elton allowed cameras to film his writing and recording sessions. Elton and Brandi will take the stage at “An Evening With Elton John & Brandi Carlile at The London Palladium on March 26.
Lady Gaga debuted a new single and video during the GRAMMY Awards – “Abracadabra” from her upcoming album MAYHEM. Gaga co-directed the video which showcases a dance battle between the light and dark sides of herself. Gaga told ET that she worked really hard on her album – “I wrote so many songs I produced over and over again and I made something that I really am proud to give to my fans and I’m grateful.”
Fresh off her win for Best Rap Album at GRAMMYS, Doechii dropped a new song “Nosebleeds” which she wrote and recorded for the occasion.
After Dawes kicked off the GRAMMY Awards by leading an all-star performance with Brad Paisley, Brittany Howard, John Legend, Sheryl Crow and St. Vincent to honor Los Angeles, they released their exclusive cover version of “I Love L.A.” with all proceeds benefitting The Recording Academy and MusiCares’ Los Angeles Fire Relief Efforts to support music professionals.
Sabrina Carpenter has announced that the deluxe version of her album Short n’ Sweet will be out February 14. The album will feature five new tracks, including a duet with Dolly Parton on “Please, Please, Please.”
ComplexCon Hong Kong has announced that NJZ, formerly NewJeans, will be joining the musical lineup as a headliner. They will be performing for the first time at this year’s ComplexCon Hong Kong taking place March 21-25 and will be debuting new music for the festival.
Kelly Clarkson has announced she will be returning to Las Vegas with a new residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions – The Las Vegas Residency” will kick off July 4, with 18 performances scheduled through November 15, 2025.
