Fairies, jeans and cheese have more in common than you would expect, according to Kerrygold.
On St. Patrick’s Day, the Irish dairy brand and Dublin-based Native Denims announced a sweepstakes to win Kerrygold x Native Denims Cheese Pocket Jeans, a line of limited-edition jeans that utilize the small pocket on jeans as space for Kerrygold cheese snacks.
In Irish folkore, Kerrygold said cheese was hidden in clothing to fend off mischievous fairies.
Made with organic indigo cotton, the custom jeans have a Kerrygold branded leather back patch, a green “Kerrygold” back pocket tab, gold stitching, and an embroidered “cheese pocket” featuring the Irish buttercups present in the dairy brand’s logo.
Starting on March 19, cheese and denim lovers can enter for a chance to win one of the 500 pairs of jeans by visiting kerrygoldcheesepocket.com. The jeans will be available in women’s and men’s sizes in slim and relaxed fits.
“We put a focus on the smallest pocket of our denim jeans, giving it an elevated design worthy of holding beloved Kerrygold cheese snacks,” said Dave Cesari, Native Denims managing director. “We’re proud to partner with Kerrygold, a brand who like us, has put quality Irish goods on the map.”
The first of its kind collaboration is a new endeavor for Kerrygold, drawing inspiration from each brand’s commitment to high-quality, craftsmanship, sustainable practices and Irish heritage. Found in 2018, Native Denim aims to re-establish denim manufacturing in Ireland at its Dublin factory and store. The brand advocates for slow fashion, by offering made-to-measure and bespoke jeans.
Jeans are a popular product for unexpected food-related marketing schemes.
To celebrate National Caramel Month last October, Werther’s Original launched contest to win limited-edition jeans designed with 30 tiny pockets down each pant leg—perfectly sized to hold a Werther’s Original caramel candy.
The same month, denim enthusiasts and beer aficionados had the chance to win a pair of exclusive Beer Wash Jeans. The Wrangler Cowboy Cut jeans were crafted with repurposed brewing materials from Coors Banquet.
