Duer Launches New Denim Fabrics Fit for Warmer Weather

There’s a smarter way to dress in denim this spring thanks to fabric innovation from Duer.

The Canadian apparel brand is gearing up to launch a new men’s and women’s collection made with Performance Denim Lite, a lightweight, breathable denim that can be worn year-round comfortable. The 7.5 oz. fabric is 25 percent lighter than Duer’s flagship Performance Denim fabric but maintains the same performance benefits for all-day comfort while looking like traditional denim.

The blend of 74 percent cotton, 24 percent Coolmax All-Season EcoMade polyester and 2 percent elastane provides comfort, breathability, temperature regulation and wicking, and limitless range of motion.

“Our fabric philosophy is to be relentless about perfecting the blend of natural and performance
fibers so we’re able to meet a need that other denim brands aren’t able to,” said Gary Lenett, Duer founder. “With the launch of Performance Denim Lite, there’s no reason to stop wearing
jeans throughout the summer—it’s one of the lightest denims ever developed and breathes
significantly better than synthetic bottoms in a similar weight.”

Performance Denim Lite is available across men’s and women’s styles. The men’s include slim straight jeans, a pant with a drawstring elasticated waistband and a two-pocket shirt with a nod to Western.

Women’s pant styles include include a high rise cargo jean, a pleated trouser jean, the Harbour Pant, a style that combines denim with loungewear, complete with a drawstring waistband. The collection also offers a pleated short, romper and shirt dress with pockets.

The Performance Denim Lite collection retails for $79-$129.

The roll out of Performance Denim Lite follows the release of other Spring 2024 styles, including No Sweat Denim, a new fabric is enhanced with lyocell for a soft, smooth hand feel and drape of dress pants. The fabrication debuted in the women’s No Sweat Denim High Rise Wide Leg jean.

Stretch canvas and NuStretch, a cotton, nylon and spandex blend that offers comfort and shape retention, continues to be important for the fabric-first brand. The spring line also offers the first women’s jean in Performance Denim+ fabric, a high rise straight. Performance Denim+ is Duer’s heavier yet still stretch performance fabric.

“At Duer, we design clothing for people who want to do more with less—without sacrificing style or performance,” Lenett said. “This collection delivers this, offering versatile pieces that move with you and fit effortlessly into everyday life.”
