It’s been close to a decade since Chris Stapleton dropped his classic debut LP, Traveller, back in March 2015. With hits like “Tennessee Whiskey,” intimate cuts like “Whiskey and You,” and seething tracks like “Outlaw State of Mind,” the country star’s album earned a Grammy for Best Country Album and Country Solo Performance — and recently earned a spot on our list of the best albums of the 21st century.
“Chris Stapleton’s proper debut was initially a modest success until a showstopping 2015 CMA Awards appearance with Justin Timberlake turned him into a superstar and sent the album to the top of the charts,” Rolling Stone wrote of Traveller in our Greatest Albums of the 21st Century (So Far) list, later adding that “Nashville insiders knew Stapleton was one of the greatest singers alive — with Traveller, the rest of the world finally got a worthy introduction.”

Stapleton’s 2015 LP is now available to buy on a variety of formats, including a newly discounted vinyl LP on Amazon. Traveller is currently 15% off on the retailer’s site (though that discount could end at any time).
“I’m playing electric guitar, mandolin, acoustic guitar. I’m singing on it, singing harmony with myself in some places on it. It could not be more me,” Stapleton told Rolling Stone of making Traveller back in a 2015 interview. “It’s really easy to go out there — and I’m not knocking anyone — and hire guys to do all these things for you. But for me, this is a great representation of what you can come and see live, and possibly connect with.”
This year, Stapleton will hit the road for his All-American Road Show trek through 2025, as well as return to the stage alongside George Strait for a five-date stadium tour that kicks off in May.
