BMW M Hybrid V8 50th Anniversary Livery Info

BMW North America is marking its 50th anniversary at the 73rd edition of the Twelve Hours of Sebring on March 15, with the BMW M Hybrid V8 set to debut a commemorative livery. This special design pays homage to five decades of BMW’s motorsport legacy in North America, tracing back to the historic 1975 Sebring victory of the BMW 3.0 CSL.

The livery of the BMW M Hybrid V8s competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IWSC) showcases key moments from 1975 to the present, elegantly integrated within the iconic Sebring track silhouette. This nod to history underscores the lasting impact of BMW’s motorsport presence in the U.S., beginning with the formation of BMW North America on March 15, 1975 — just days before its landmark Sebring triumph.

Notably, the anniversary will also bring together two legendary figures: Jochen Neerpasch, co-founder of BMW Motorsport GmbH and Brian Redman, one of the winning drivers of the 1975 race. The BMW M Hybrid V8s will continue to feature this unique design throughout the IWSC season. With the #24 and #25 BMW M Hybrid V8s vying for victory in the GTP class, BMW M Motorsport aims to extend its Sebring legacy. The 12-hour endurance race kicks off at 10:10 AM local time and will be streamed live via IMSA Tv.
